सृष्टि से पहले सत् नहीं था, असत् भी नहीं, अंतरिक्ष भी नहीं, आकाश भी नहीं था
छिपा था क्या?, कहाँ?, किसने ढका था? उस पल तो अगम-अतल जल भी कहां था?

सृष्टि का कौन है कर्ता? कर्ता है वा अकर्ता?
ऊँचे आकाश में रहता, सदा अध्यक्ष बना रहता, वही सचमुच में जानता… या नहीं भी जानता?
है किसी को नही पता?… नही पता… नही है पता… नही है पता…!

अंतिम भाग :-
नहीं थी म्रुत्यु, जी अमरता भी नहीं, नहीं था दिन, रात भी नहीं,
हवा भी नहीं…, सांस थी स्वयमेव फिर भी…
नहीं था कोई कुछ भी, परम तत्व से अलग या परे भी…
ॐ…! ‘कर्म’ बनकर बीज पेहला जो उगा, ‘काम’ बनकर वह जगा…
कवियों, ज्ञानियो ने जाना, असत् और सत् का निकट संबंध पेह्चाना.
पेहले संबंध में… हिरण्य नीचे… परम तत्व उसपर, उपर या नीचे…
वह था बटा हुआ, पुरुष और स्त्री बना हुआ…

सृष्टी यह बनी कैसे? किससे? आयी है कहां से?
कोई क्या जानता है? बता सकता है?
देवाओंको नाही ग्यान… वे आये सृजन में क्यों?

सृष्टि का कौन है कर्ता? कर्ता है वा विकर्ता…

हिरण्यगर्भः समवर्तताग्रे भूतस्य जातः पतिरेकासीत ।
स दाधार पृथ्वीं ध्यामुतेमां कस्मै देवायहविषा विधेम ॥

वो था हिरण्य गर्भ सृष्टि से पहले विद्यमान
वही तो सारे भूत जाति का स्वामी महान
जो है अस्तित्वमान धरती आसमान धारण कर
ऐसे किस देवता की उपासना करें हम हवि देकर?

जिस के बल पर तेजोमय है अंबर,
पृथ्वी हरी भरी स्थापित स्थिर,

The only gadget he owns is a radio and for almost 25 days in a month he is factually detached from the urban world or to put it in more appropriate terms, attached to natural world. Striving toward environmental protection while concentrating on reduced consumption Dileep Kulkarni does not need to point out instances from elsewhere, he in an inspiration by himself. Living all the change that he reveries to see, his is one of the simplest lives and by choice.

A mechanical engineer by profession Kulkarni moved from the city in 1993, to Kudawale, a village in the Konkan to work towards eco awareness. “Talking was not sufficient so my wife and I thought that all of it should be brought into practice. I worked for some years in Tata Motors and then in Vivekananda Kendra in the city for almost 9 years before moving, and since then writing on, and studying, the environment has been my mission and profession. We have a mud house there, no home appliances, no vehicles, not even the cooking gas. We are lucky enough to reside near a devrai, using the disintegrated wood since cutting it is wrong. Besides the radio a few bulbs is all that we have that consumes energy,” adds Kulkarni who has also conducted a number of camps all over the state as well as in Gujarat and Goa to create awareness about the situation.
Having authored 13 books including Nisargayan, Ahead to Nature, Green Messages and so on, he also publishes a monthly, Gatiman Sanstulan from the city, which is the only reason as to why he comes to city for five days. “Extravagant consumption is the root cause and reducing it is the remedy. Many times people give various excuses to evade the option while a few do change. I know a family who would eat ice cream every alternate day but they relinquished it after they found out that it is one of the highest energy consuming products. All it takes to change is the conviction and for me this transformation although gradual has been the easiest and the most satisfying thing,” he says.
Kulkarni however hasn’t initiated or is a part of any organisation as he says, “The NGO culture is increasingly becoming a business and with a lot of constrains to express and reach out. Yet I also feel there are various perspectives to arrive at the issue of environment, the one I have adopted is a mere facet and many eminent people like Medha Patkar are working with a different approach. The massive squalor, Pune is witnessing is unbearable. Adapting a minimalistic approach might be difficult living in a city but there are hundreds of things that can be controlled. The dissemination of thought and action towards stepping down on consumption is all it takes.”

This post is in support of Greenpeace, which is a wide spread non governmental environmental organization. They have recently started a campaign against Nestle. Nestle is using palm oil from companies that are trashing Indonesian rainforests, threatening the livelihoods of local people and pushing orang-utans towards extinction.

Look at this beautiful creation of nature…. Orangutan! Native to Indonesia and Malaysia, they are currently found only in rainforests  on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra, though fossils  have been found in Java, the Thai-Malay Peninsula, Vietnam  and China.

We as human beings, have no right to destroy nature for our so called joys. And truly speaking, the real joy lies in being with nature, being a part of nature. बाहेर पाऊस पडतोय…

आपल्यासाठी नाही…

त्या भौतिक शास्त्राला किंवा पावसाच्या देवाला या ‘अखिल मानवजात’ वगैरेशी काही घेणंदेणं नाही.. तसं असतं तर मागच्या २६ जुलै सारखा कोसळला नसता आणि आपले सौंदर्य वगैरे दाखवायचे असते तर रात्री बेरात्री कोसळला नसता.. छानपैकी दिवसा छायाचित्रकार, कवी जागे असताना पडला असता..

या सृष्टींचे प्रयोजन काही वेगळेच आहे. मला नाही वाटत की संपूर्ण मानवजातीच्या इतिहासात ते अजून कुणाला ‘दुसऱ्यांनाही ते सांगता येईल’ इतपत कळले आहे! न्यूटन काय किंवा आईन्स्टाईन काय.. मार्क्स, सावरकर.. काही विशिष्ट विषयांत ते इतरांच्या पुढे होते अगदी काही शे वर्षे पुढे होते.. पण या संपूर्ण सृष्टींचे प्रयोजन काय, कोहम?.. ची कायमस्वरूपी अशी उत्तरे कुणी दिली?. . . . कदाचित त्यांना स्वतःला कळले असेल.. सांगता नाही आले! सांगताना ‘नेति नेति’ असेच झाले!

….तर मग का पडतो पाऊस? तो काय देवाचा प्रसाद आहे का? देवस्वरूप आहे का? का एक भौतिक शास्त्राचा नियम? का कविता? सही! रोमँटिक वगैरे.. का यमस्वरूप..? माहीत नाही हो. . मग काय “मेघांच्या धारांतून प्रेमरूप भासतोस..” ला काही अर्थ नाही? नसेल कदाचित!

सगळी प्रासंगिक नावे, विशेषणे आहेत ही! आपल्यानुसार वेळेवर(?) आला तर वेळेवर शेती होऊन आपल्याला जे अन्न लागते जगायला(?) ते जास्तीत जास्त प्रमाणात मिळते म्हणून देव म्हणायचे.. हिल स्टेशनला किंवा घाटात गेलो तर डोळ्यांना सुंदर(?), छान(?) दिसते(?) म्हणायचे.. वाट लावली तर यम म्हणायचे. . पण या प्रत्येक नावाच्या, भावनेच्या, विशेषणाच्या पाठी. . “साला काय चालू आहे हे?” हा प्रश्न असतोच. मी तर फार त्रासलो आहे हो.. कुणाला कधीतरी मिळेल का हे उत्तर. . का या प्रश्नावर काट मारावी मी आणि फोटो काढावा पावसाचा खिडकीतून? छान(?) दिसतंय(?) हो बाहेर…
